where the right routine can make all the difference in maintaining beautiful, healthy lashes. Whether you’re a fan of natural lashes, extensions, or fast lashes, SarahLouise Lashes is here to guide you through the best practices for lash care.

Understanding Different Lash Types:

Lashes come in various forms, each requiring specific care. Natural lashes are your lashes, which can be enhanced with mascara or serums. Extensions are semi-permanent lashes applied by a professional, and fast lashes are temporary lashes that you can apply yourself. Here are your do’s & don’ts for every lash.

Natural Lash

Do’s:

Cleanse Gently: Use a gentle, oil-free makeup remover to clean your lashes. Be careful not to rub or pull on your lashes while removing makeup.

Moisturize: Just like your skin, your lashes need hydration. Use a lash conditioner or a natural oil like castor oil to keep them moisturized.

Healthy Diet: Eating a balanced diet rich in vitamins and proteins can promote lash health. Foods like fish, eggs, beans and green vegetables are great for lash growth.

Brush Your Lashes: Gently brush your lashes with a clean lash brush to keep them neat and prevent tangling.

Use Quality Mascara: Opt for high-quality, non-toxic mascara. Avoid waterproof mascara as it can be drying and hard to remove.

Regular Trims: Just like hair, trimming the tips of your lashes can promote healthier growth. However, this should be done very carefully and infrequently.

Stay Hydrated: Drinking plenty of water helps in overall health, including the health of your lashes.

Don’ts for Natural Lash Care:

Avoid Rubbing Your Eyes: This can cause lash breakage and loss. If your eyes are itchy, try gently patting or pressing on them.

Skip Harsh Chemicals: Avoid lash treatments that use harsh chemicals, as they can damage your natural lashes over time.

Don’t Sleep in Mascara: Always remove your mascara before bed to prevent lash breakage and eye irritation.

Avoid Excessive Heat: Direct heat from curling tools can weaken lashes. If using a lash curler, do so gently.

Don’t Ignore Lash Health: If you notice issues like excessive lash loss or changes in lash texture, consult a professional.

Fast Lashes care

Do’s:

Proper Application: Ensure that Fast Lashes are applied correctly. Follow the instructions for the best results.

Gentle Cleansing: Use a gentle, oil-free cleanser to clean around the eye area. Be careful not to rub or pull on the lashes, when you have removed the lashes make sure to shampoo them to help get rid of any excess glue.

Brush Them Gently: Use a clean lash brush to gently comb through your Fast Lashes to keep them neat and untangled.

Sleep Carefully: Try to sleep on your back to avoid crushing your lashes or remove the lashes before bed. Use a silk pillowcase to minimize friction.

Stay Hydrated: Keeping your body hydrated can contribute to the overall health of your lashes.

Don’ts for Fast Lashes Care:

Avoid Water and Steam: For the first 24-48 hours after application, avoid getting your Fast Lashes wet. This helps the adhesive set properly.

Don’t Use Oil-Based Products: Oil can weaken the adhesive bond of Fast Lashes, leading to premature fallout.

Avoid Rubbing Your Eyes: This can cause the lashes to loosen or fall out. Be gentle around your eye area.

Skip Mascara: Ideally, Fast Lashes eliminate the need for mascara. If you must use it, choose a water-based formula.

Don’t Use Mechanical Curlers: These can damage Fast Lashes. If you desire a more curled look, consult your lash technician.

Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Keep your lashes away from harsh chemical products, including certain cleansers and facial treatments.

Don’t Pull or Tug: Never pull or tug at your Fast Lashes. If you want them removed, have it done professionally.

Extensions Lashes care

Do’s:

Proper Cleansing: Use a gentle, oil-free cleanser to clean your lash extensions. Avoid products that contain glycol, as they can weaken the adhesive.

Daily Combing: Gently brush your lash extensions daily with a clean lash brush to keep them neat and prevent tangling.

Avoid Water Initially: Keep your lash extensions dry for the first 24-48 hours after application to allow the adhesive to set properly.

Use Lash-Friendly Makeup: If you use makeup, choose products that are safe for lash extensions. Avoid oil-based makeup and removers.

Sleep Carefully: Try to sleep on your back to avoid crushing your lash extensions. A silk pillowcase can be beneficial.

Regular Refills: Schedule regular refill appointments (usually every 2-4 weeks) to maintain the fullness of your lash extensions.

Attend to Any Irritation: If you experience any irritation or discomfort, contact your lash technician for advice.

Don’ts for Lash Extensions Care:

Avoid Oil-Based Products: Oils can break down the adhesive bond, causing premature shedding of your lash extensions.

Don’t Rub Your Eyes: Be gentle around your eye area. Rubbing can cause damage to your natural lashes and extensions.

Skip Waterproof Makeup: Waterproof makeup can be hard to remove and may require rubbing or oil-based removers, which can harm your lash extensions.

Avoid Mechanical Lash Curlers: These can damage both your natural lashes and the extensions. Most lash extensions come pre-curled.

Don’t Use Cotton Pads: Cotton pads or balls can snag on lash extensions. Use lint-free applicators for cleaning around the eyes.

Avoid Steam and High Heat: Excessive heat and steam can weaken the adhesive bond. Be cautious with saunas, steam rooms, and high-heat hair styling tools.

Never Remove Them Yourself: If you want your lash extensions removed, have it done professionally to avoid damaging your natural lashes.
